Background and Overview
GENEJOY.COM
provides an overview of the professional service of Gene Joy in
his 24 year tenure at the Hall County
Sheriff's Office.
Mr. Joy has
grown in his position as Commander of the Community Outreach
Unit and attributes his success primarily on his friend, mentor,
and colleague Steve Cronic,
Sheriff of Hall County, Georgia.
Mr. Joy's name
is synonymous for working with the youth of Hall County
for twenty years. Mr. Joy is one of the three
founding members of the D.A.R.E.
program in Hall County. In addition Mr. Joy founded
and developed a summer youth camp program that to date has
served over 2500 special children in Hall County.
Dedicating his career to the
children of Hall County and their safety, Mr. Joy has taught over
40,000 of Hall County's children the DARE program
and ADVANCE program
since 1992.
In addition, Mr. Joy served as President of the
Georgia DARE Officers Association as
well other positions within the Board of Directors of Georgia
DARE since 1992.
From planning and developing DARE outreach
programs for children across the beautiful state of Georgia, to
outreach missions at Egleston Hospital and Children's Healthcare
of Atlanta Mr. Joy believes in serving our children in Georgia
for a better and brighter tomorrow.

By working with
the Gainesville/Hall County Chamber of Commerce, as well as
other civic organizations and homeowners associations, Mr. Joy
has provided exceptional service to Hall County's community.
